Nickel Creek is mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins and guitarist Sean Watkins. Together a sum of more than their staggering parts, the trio revolutionized bluegrass and folk in the early 2000s and ushered in a new era of what we now recognize as Americana music. After a stellar 2023 tour, the Platinum-selling, Grammy Award-winning trio are set to return highlighting their recent album, "Celebrants" — a bounty of 18 disparate but loosely connected songs written collectively during a creative retreat in Santa Barbara in early 2021. The result is perhaps the most audacious yet accessible release of the Grammy-winning trio's 34-year career. The entire enterprise is, naturally, shot through with the trio's virtuosic picking and shiver-inducing harmonies. The lyrics — addressing love, friendship, time, and the universal travails of travel — combine the poetic and plain-spoken, hitting a sweet spot of ethereal and relatable as bridges are built, crossed, burned, and rebuilt.
Andrew Bird is an internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler, and songwriter who picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Bird has released 17 albums and performed extensively across the globe. He has recorded with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, appeared as “Dr. Stringz” on Jack’s Big Music Show, and headlined concerts at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and festivals worldwide.
More recently, Bird released a series of site-specific improvisational short films and recordings called Echolocations, recorded in remote and acoustically interesting spaces: a Utah canyon, an abandoned seaside bunker, the middle of the Los Angeles River, and a reverberant stone-covered aqueduct in Lisbon. Additionally, Bird hosts an ongoing series of live-streamed performances called Live from the Great Room, putting the creative process on display for fans as he collaborates and converses with friends in a candid, intimate setting.

Seat cushions 16” x 16” or smaller are allowed in the venue at all shows. No chairs or blankets are permitted. Low-profile chairs are available to rent at most concerts.
All vendors only accept payment with debit, credit, or Old Mill District gift cards. There is a 1-to-1 cash-to-card exchange at the Guest Services booth for folks who only bring cash. No extra fees.

Only clear, single compartment bags or packs that measure 12-inches tall by 12-inches wide with a depth of 6 inches or less are allowed in the venue. Small, non-clear clutch bags that are 6-inches tall by 9-inches wide are the only exception.
At this time there are no additional health and safety procedures to attend shows. Policies could be amended at any time to reflect those changes.
