OLD MILL DISTRICT

Just a couple blocks from the gates of the Les Schwab Amphitheater is the shopping and dining area of the Old Mill District. You can pick up sunscreen, a fleece vest, oyster shooters, a local microbrew, a kite to fly, or jump on the Cycle Pub in the Old Mill District for a ride around town while enjoying all of the aforementioned. The Old Mill District is one of the Northwest's most distinctive and dynamic mixed-use developments. Located on 270 acres that formerly housed one of the largest sawmill operations in the world, the Old Mill District offers a rich history along with jaw-dropping mountain views and scenic river vistas.

Top 10 things to do while waiting for the gates of LSA to open:

1. stop by the Ticket Mill between Anthony's and The Duck Store and pick up a  birding list. Borrow a pair of Leupold binoculars (free) and see how many of the creatures on the list you can spot along the banks of the Deschutes River.

2. Check out the Old Mill District's 18-hole fly casting course. The only fly-casting course in the country. Borrow a rod from Orvis and try your luck at making par on as many holes as you have time for.

3. Stop by Anthony's Restaurant and gobble up one of their fresh-from-the-farm berry deserts. It's a concert day. Desert first.

4. Head down to REI and play with their new gear.

5. Rent a surrey from Wheel Fun Rentals (down by Orvis) and pedal your way along the pathways of the Deschutes River Trail.

6. Sit on the patio at Greg's Grill, Pastini, or Red Robin enjoying the beverage / appetizer of your liking while watching the concert crowd gather.

7. Window shop!

8. Join in a pick-up sand volleyball game on the courts just south of the Amphitheater.

9. Play the most popular video game ever invented at Cat-6.

10. Kick back on the grass and be happy you're in Bend. We are.
